Arkansas Custom Knife Show - Little Rock 2010

Roger, thank you for the review. It was a great show and it was great to get to see you. Like I have said before, if the law ever fails you, we have a very good writer among us.
Thank you again.

That was great! I brought a camera, but I think I only managed to take five pictures and they weren't very good. I know where I will be sending people to check out this show. Thanks for putting in all the work to put this together.

Nice review, Roger - and it was a real fun show! Roger and I lamented the fact that this show proved there are more desirable knives out there than we have bucks to buy them with. :( Although, I did try to buy them all, exceeding my budget by a number in the low five figures. I told my wife, "It's about jobs!" But she loved that little James "Jim" Batson crown stag patch knife in the Paul Long pouch sheath I brought her... and immediately forgave my financial frivolity.;)

Great coverage  Really enjoy all the showing and telling  Lots of thanks to you Roger :)

mohd.

GREAT job Roger.

Thanks for taking the time to post all the pictures and write the descriptions.

Thanks for taking the time to share with those of us that were not there, Roger.

Roger,
We were so glad to have you. Great job on th review.

We're already planning for next year. Lin

Thanks for the comments gents. I really appreciate it when others give me a peek at a show I didn't get to go attend and I am more than happy to do the same.

I went back and edited in pics of Brion Tomberlin which I thought had been included the first time around. Those little thumbnails can look very alike even when you have a guy Brion's size in the pic. :o

Coop - I'm rocking a new G11 - this was the first time using it and I've figured out less than half the functions, but I'm really liking it so far. Thanks for your comments.

Evryone keep well.

Roger

Roger,

It was a pleasure to get to talk to you this weekend. It's always nice to put a face to a name that you see all the time.

Thanks for the revue. Very nice.

Gary

Great review, Roger - sorry I couldn't make it!

:thumbup::thumbup: :eek:

Wonderful review Roger!!!
Pics of lots of knives that I didn't get a chance to see before they were whisked away.
I've got to start letting you hold the knife and I the camera; it's a wonder I didn't break it!!!!

thanks

Michael - there were two - the first is Kyle's Tuxedo Fighter (shown above) which is currently in the capable hands of Paul Long.

The second is a small, super-cool damascus fighter by John White. Not sure what the pattern is officially called, but I call it "bowtie". He had the blackwood handle glued on, but not shaped. It will follow along to Paul in a few days. Pics will be posted.

Had Mike Williams' ivory / damascus bowie been available for sale, that WOULD have followed me home. At least I have a chance of bidding on it at Blade.

And in the interim, I may have to decide what organ I can sell to snag Massey's clamshell / wire-inlayed maple bowie.

Roger

Roger, thank you again. I do have to agree with Mike. We will let you hold the knives and we will take pictures. Looks kind of like I am holding a toothpick,LOL. We always look forward to seeing you and talking to you. Great pictures and a great review.

Great review Roger! I enjoyed getting to meet you as well as several of the other forum members that show up around here from time to time.

I got to spend some time with nearly every maker while I was collecting their maker's mark and really enjoyed doing it. I picked up more than 50 marks that I didn't have and a few that would have been really hard to get outside of photographing a collection. I want to thank everyone for being so patient and allowing me to photograph their marks and Charlie for sticking with the table while I was off taking pictures.

Charlie and I had a great time and are already trying to plan our time for the next Little Rock Show. We really hope to be able to make it.
