Arkansas Hunter

Go to Knifehead's post 3244 in the Bose Knife forum for a photo of the AH. I don't have my computer set up to take photos. The AH is slim and more of a back pocket knife or can ride in your front pocket.

I can't find this forum, please help :confused:

Hey artdeg....... How about a mini-review!!!!!!!!!! :D I think I want one sooooooo............ bad

I have not handled any of the previous Case/Bose knives but from what I heard on BladeForums they are the next best thing to owning a Bose original. TB put his stamp of approval on the AH from what I read in the Case press release. I took the plunge and bought the chestnut bone AH. I have not put it to use in the field yet. It is an imposing knife that feels light but substantial in my hand (I have large hands). It has the utility of a fixed blade with the convenience of a folder. It rides well in my front and back pockets. The clip point blade was shaving hair sharp out of the box and sliced/cut through a variety of things with little effort. The Case/Bose AH knife is a truly unique pattern. I am not aware of any similar pattern out there. I intend to carry the AH in my EDC rotation.They only made 300 in the chestnut bone pattern. I don't know how long they will last but I understand that the Case/Bose patterns are in demand. So there you go - you decide.

Got one...Fit and Finish is really nice

Looks great, John, thanks for posting that terrific image. :thumbup:

Thanks John, for finally getting a picture into this thread!! Coincidentally, my collab just arrived in the mail, courtesy of our own BetsyV (thanks Betsy!!) so I thought I would make up a comparison pic, with a little history.
Left to right;
The original Arkansas Hunter. My understanding is Shapleigh Hardware used the name when marketing their fancy/deluxe lockback, with the label "Diamond-Edge".
Next is an Empire in ebony. Empire made the knives for Shapleigh, and sold their own brand through them also!
Third is Tony's prototype. This is the second knife he made, not the XX marked one made for Case's edification, but an example for the ones he makes on a custom basis. Last, is the Case/Bose collaboration in a nice reddish Chestnut bone. I think Tony did a wonderful job of bringing this old pattern back to life, and of guiding Case to make a great knife!
A star is born!!

Great scans, John. Personally, I gotta go with the "antique" bone on this one.

I agree...I guess since I have gone this far I will see an Ebony one down in that MailBox one of these days.... when they start showing up on the Bay. Warning: Drinking and ebay can be scary

man, I hod wander into this thread and see these great pics. Now I have one on the way:D

Well here are the last of this years Case/Bose collaboration additions. My bank account is just a smoking pile of scraps that can't feed the dog at the end of the week but thank the Lord we got the whole kit and kaboodle for another year...:D
