The Arkansas Show is about one month away (Feb 12-13) so makers please show us what you're bringing.
Makers, if you not able to post your photos you can send then to me @ kj1056@aol.com

Let's start off with a very beautiful and fitting example from JR Cook which Buddy Thomason shared with us last week.

JR Cook Quillon Dagger:
Blade is of 1084 & 15n20 and 8 inches; OAL is 13 3/4 inches.
Handle is elephant ivory.
Fittings are iron with acid engraving.
Guard is iron with acid engraving.
Acid engraving on the blade as well.

I've got a half a dozen blades H/T'ed and none completed. I've been consentrating on filling orders recently but maybe this will motivate me to get busy on them.:)

Look forward to seeing you there.

Chuck, those Allen Hutchinson pieces are exceptional as are your images.

Will see you there Gary.

I'm just now starting mine. :p

Don you and your knives will be a great addition to a great show.
Glad to hear you will have a table this year.

Thanks for starting this Kevin... I always love seeing what all the guys that attend come up with. Sure seems like that show must be forged blade heaven!!! :D

So Don is attending eh??? I have a feeling there may be an award or two that could head back home with Don from this show :D

REALLY looking forward to seeing what gets added to this thread!  :)

Kevin, I did the show from 1997 to 2004. Very good show and it's good to be back! :D

Nick, too much competition there for me to win anything.
Who knows though, maybe best 'Giraffe Bone Handled Knife'...:p

Here's one Jerry will have to display. He just finished it up for a client and will bring it to the show.

Great pieces so far. Little Rock is pretty much my favourite show after Blade. Really good people, a very relaxed atmoshphere and LOTS of quality knives. Glad to hear DHIII is coming back.

Hey, Roger P, are you going to make the trek again this year? If so it will be my pleasure to spend time with you again.

Paul

Thank you Paul - I would so welcome the opportunity to hang with you again. Looking like a long shot at this point with the work schedule, but not completely ruled out yet.

Roger

Anymore Arkansas Show destined knives out there as of yet?

I'm working on three knives for the show. One is just about done and the other two probably won't be done until right before the show. I'll post them as I finish them.

Thanks for starting this thread Kevin.

I am working on two more also. A bowie that should be ready by the end of next week and a Gamemaster hunter.

Right now I am aiming toward bringing eight or nine knives. Possibly including what will be my first forged knife that I have put up for sale. However, finishing it up comes after finishing up the other knives and I have a lot left to do on it.

I have started a little thread to keep track of my show preparations over in my forum if you would like to see how my progress is going:

J.R. Cook will have this one on his table in Little Rock, as well as the dagger at the top of the thread. Both are worth checking out live at the show. This beauty is his 25 Years (of knifemaking) anniversary knife - the Swallowtail Bowie. If you do behold it at the show, tell me if that isn't some of the most perfect feather damascus steel you've ever seen (both sides). Look how it translates to the guard and other fittings. That's fossil walrus ivory the color of butterscotch. The word swallowtail, in this instance, refers to JR's unique split ends on the guard. 12 1/2 in. OAL

One of a kind Bowie: 10" two bar Damascus "W" pattern blade 15" overall. Fittings are Damascus and a stag with ivory spacer handle.

JR keeps knocking them out of the park. Two more really fine looking knives for sure. Looking forward to seeing them at the show.
