Had an interesting conversation with David Etchieson of the Arkansas Knife marker's show. I had talked to him in late 2012 and 2013 and early 2014 wanting a table for the show. David had promised me a table but not till 2015 I've been calmly waiting. Now some of you know me and some of you don't. I'm a supplier of Knife makers hardware and high tech handle material. We have the most complete hardware line for knife makers in the world and offer custom machined hardware all at a more cost effective price available by anyone. David informed me today that His show needs no hardware suppliers because they have all the suppliers they want at their show. Why BS me for 2 years if that is the case. There are no primary hardware suppliers at the Arkansas show! At the end of the conversation David let me know they may not have a show next year. I can see why, if they don't allow new blood to come in or make it easy for makers and suppliers to do their show and make the show grow it will die. I will be at the Blade show. Blade wants their show to be bigger and better every year.

I go to knife shows to see knives not supply's to make knives.

If they have a knife makers suppliers show you should fit right in.

I myself would not want you at my show if this is the kind of man or woman you are. Being a cry baby on a public forum makes me believe you have problems and don't need to be in public.

Tulsa gun show is coming up this fall, get a table there.

Really? What, exactly, prompted this response?

I guess I just kind of find it distasteful to discuses your personal private business on an open forum.

I am sure if it was best for the knife show the promoter would let this poster in but for some reason the promoter chose not to, its the promoters knife show and he has that right.

If this poster is sore its best to find a way to promote himself and business to others in a positive light so he is invited to the show and he don't even have to ask.

I don't care for what reasons the prompter of the knife show had to not let this poster in but the promoter is not letting this poster in so why cry here. I do not respect a business man who cries and tries to destroy another's reputation because he did not get what he wanted.

Its a tuff world, take your punches like a man and find another avenue to display your product.

This promoter took none of this posters money and then ripped this poster off. He simply said he would try in the future and that is all. It did not work out, you lost no paid money so move on.

It's their party...if they ever changed their mind, you've now made sure that you won't get a table. Maybe your reputation preceded you and they don't want you there. Ever cross one of their members? They are a tight enought group to have an unwritten list of undesirables. Last time I was there they had some suppliers, but not of equipment.

Just a little surprised that this struck such a nerve. You seem to be pretty emotionally involved to take such a personal attitude about it. Especially after admonishing the op to man up.

But my take on the OP's post is that there may not be an Arkansas Knife show next year. I gather that AG Russell will not be having a table. I think there is a place for knife supply dealers at any dedicated knife show.... any.

My take on your post is that you're just a bit grumpy.

Added: I also notice that Jephco is not a paying member. If you're a dealer in the business, I think this may be important and not much of a post count to boot. Did Jephco just post to voice a complaint? Seems to be the case....

I have no personal problem with the poster but I don't respect a man who cries on an open forum.

The way I read it seemed like he was trying to make us feel sorry for him and punish the promoter for him.

Why he would talk about personal business in public is just not right.

Now if the promoter would have taken money and not let the poster enter the show I can see complaining but just because the other guys did not want to play with him is not a good reason to post here, in my opinion.

Actually I should have minded my own business but its too late for that.

But then again we as a society should set standards as to how others should act in public.

Sorry if is sounds like grumpy or out of placehere! The post was about 1. Knifemakers are a fantastic bunch of people and for one not to keep his word was a shock. I take checks from people I don't even know because I take them at their word, a man's hand shake or word is his bond. 2. Shows seem to be dropping rapidly 3. We need as many people as possible to sign up for theses shows that's what keeps them going. That's all the post was about!

General Knife Discussion is for discussing knives.
FEEDBACK is for discussing deals, so I moved this.
Advertising a business here requires a paid membership, so I'm closing this thread.
