Arkansas Show

Yes in deed, 4 th year I've attended and each year just keeps getting better and better. The crowd was fantastic and it was great to see old friends and make some new ones.
I'll definitely be back next year.
Roger you was missed, don't let it happen again. ;)

Little Rock rocked this year. It was really a fun show. I usually drive down and back from S. Missouri, but went with Don and stayed this year. So glad I did! I have made five of their shows now, and this is the first Friday night banquet I attended. John is right, 'raising the bar' was the theme for the night. Just so much top notch work on those tables Friday night.

I enjoyed meeting many new makers/collectors. Jon Klein grew his annual Saturday night dinner this year, and I see why. It was great to gather, eat and discuss between show days.

My photography intentions totally flopped. I had good intentions to take several, but the show got so busy Saturday, all plans flew out the door. I did catch Kyle with four of his knives still on the table (all were sold, of course). Top knife won best damascus, third knife tied with DH III for best fighter, and of course best bowie (fourth knife) was shown in the Little Rock Show thread. Don's winning fighter is pictured in the same thread.

As you can tell from previous comments, there was a lot of enthusiasm at this show.

My wife did one of those funky instagram pictures with her phone and I am pretty sure that is the only photo we got all weekend. I barely got away from my table all weekend. But, that is a good problem to have. I love this show and the banquet is really handy as being a maker I don't get around as much during the show and at the banquet you see many of the best knives there.

By the way I think I can see Kevin Jones and I most definitely see Brian Thie's shoulder...

I have to echo everyone above. GREAT show and the quality of knives is outstanding. I always enjoy this show and seeing friends. Saturday was definitely the busiest I have seen and Sunday was pretty busy also. My table has already been reserved for next year. Roger we missed you, so be there next year. Always fun seeing Dan ( Danbo), we especially loved the t-shirt story. I wish I had the time to take pictures but was way too busy.
I want to thank David Etchieson and his people in the AKA, for everything they do to make this show a success. If you are a maker and want to be at this show you might want to go ahead and see about a table. I bet that there are not many left.
Big thumbs up from me.

I have to echo everything that has been said and then some.

The Gala on Friday night with the knife judging is a great way for makers and collectors to get together. The best pieces are available for everyone to see on the judging tables.

Plenty of prizes were given away at the Gala as well, and the Grand prize was a new grinder.

I know Chuck Ward was keeping busy so there are going to be plenty of photos in the near future of the knives at the show. I am anxiously awaiting one myself.

The show was a good one. I'd like to thank all you makers who were there for the first time and spent their hard earned money on table fee and hotel. We hope to have you back and will try to create interest in custom work locally as well as everywhere else. But it's you guy's work that draws in the buyers, so my hat's off to you.
