Arm stropping

Could that small amount of arm stropping actually make a difference to your edge that quickly? lol I'd imagine youd have to do that for hours lol

You guys are missing the point. His arm hair is so coarse that he is actually re-profiling the edge in this extremely short amount of time.

I think ..

I occasionally do this with razors, just for a quick touch up, but I wouldn't think knives, with much different profiles and bevels than a razor, would benefit much from an arm.

Belt. Coffee cup. Wood. Cardboard. My experience with stropping is that if stropping is enough to get my edge back it's not that dull or the steel I'm using is too soft. Granted my knives are pure utility where a decent edge is all you need and any of that super sharpness you get from stropping or a super fine stone is lost in the first few cuts

Accomplished Experts can jump out of planes and skydive and live, but most of us wouldn't walk away.
I won't say it's stupid, but pretty close.

What can go wrong.
Him getting anywhere near my knives...
That guy is crazy. Never mind the arm, what is he doing with the leather? Ruining the edge, I would wager. Notice how he doesn't cut the paper after he uses the leather?

Yep nope if it catches on though you might see more knives for sale in exchange as spouses left behind sell there dead spouses collections ;)

I was waiting for him to slip. He even tells the guy to do that when he gets home and it will get sharper.
