A buddy of mine has a folder with Armadillo scales and it looks quite good, seems to be durable and offers a sure grip.
Found myself wondering why it's not used more. But then I have liked some giraffe bone handles too.

Well it is a little different from the norm. I have made two folders with it.
The pieces were stabilized. Very durable and had a good feel.
Kinda like a basket ball?
I don't know if I will use it again? I know there is plenty of it.
Holger put a link to one of the folders, and here is the other that I made with Armadillo scales.

That's interesting. The Armadillo scales I have seen look more like but not just like Turtle shell. (bigger scales than shown above.).

Has this been used as an inlay material for sheaths? Seems like it would make another interesting inlay option.

LOL now thats funny!! Don I got a on a armadillo scale kick and made 3 folders and one fixed blade and they sold really well . With the knives you makeWell, I got a dozen sets of scales, I hope somebody likes it
you could handle em with duct tape or plywood and they would sell. :thumbup:
