Army Regulations!

Well, I am not Annapolis, so this does not really count, But since you did issue a challenge and I did get my letter to the Academy I scored a 1460 on the SAT. Just giving you a hard time. Good luck and kick some ass.

Just to be clear, I am not going to the Acedemy either. I merely had everything lined up to go. My field of interest changed and thus did my choice of schools.

thats a very generous offer...VERY!

good luck,stilleto.
although i havent signed up yet, (Still gotta lose weight) i hope to be joining you out in the field someday.

Go Army,
Mo.

I just want to thank BAE publicly for his offer. It means a lot to me to have people support our armed services, and I respect people who have served our nation already.

Mo- if you want to see me in the field, go to a Cav unit. I hope to go to 1st Cav after graduation, ride in a tank and shoot the really big guns. I encourage you to stick with the weight loss and get used to running, because you will be doing more of both at basic.

As a word of warning, I read an article today by a professor at UC Berkley, and he said that armed conflict in Iraq in the next six months is quite likely. Keep our boys in your prayers, especailly the ones in Afghanistan and the Phillipines.

Tonight I learned a little something regarding "knives in the barracks". Apparently, out trunkroom is not considered to be part of the barracks, and I can have bigger knives there. I can only use them during field training, when apparently tons of people have Ka-Bars. Good for me. Still not going ot take my Randall into the field, and I'll just ahve to bring my Campanion back from Summer Leave with me.

Anyhow, thanks for the advise. This thread was resurrected and, thankfully, provided some good info.

And Happy Valentine's day.

Here is the regulation for the AF, that very well may translate into ARMY housing as well. If you are in accompanied housing (spouse+family) guns and knives are authorized, however if you stay in a dormatory you are not authorized to have a firearm or a knife with a blade over 3" long unless it is issued to you. An issued bayonet (M-9) is O.K. if you need it to carry out assigned duties or if you are on mobility. If you are in a school, like West Point, AF Academy Etc. you are pretty much SOL. Check your local housing regulations.
