Both of these fixed blade knives sat on my self for a few years until my job took me overseas near the red sea where I was forced to take them out to perform. I've used both of these knives for the past year to gut large, well very large fish, and bait. They both performed flawlessly around salty conditions, extreme heat and very bloody conditions. No burs or dents on any of the two blades. The Bernard due to its longer blade was used more to fillet and gut the larger fish, while the Busse SAR was the preferred blade to cut bait, spine and dig into the tougher fish heads. Overall with high temperatures and salty conditions, both worked admirable. I've read several posts of how nice our knives look nice and appear tough, but until you use them, you can't really appreciate their craftsmanship. There is no better feeling to clean off and sharpen your knives after its been used all day in a harsh environment.
