Arno Bernard iMamba praise

One thing that really really helps with fingerprints on mirror polished, and the like, knives is Renaissance Wax. I've got a mirror polished fixed blade that collected prints like nobodys business, I put a few good coatings of wax on it, and now it cant even get a finger print if I wanted to. I'd imagine car wax and whatever other type of wax would work well too.
Sexwax for that sexy blade.

I know you're just playing around, surfboard wax is very tacky and when it comes to board wax I'm a Sticky Bumps guy.

I would suggest this though and much cheeper than Wicked Wax.

Rainy day pics here of my PJ, earlier Gen model. I know there've been several variants and numerous "improvements" since I bought mine and, yes, it's unadorned and has the IKBS-style pivot, but I'm perfectly fine with its action and not bothered by the fact that it's something of a PIA to reassemble. I have no others with this system, like having something different, and am well-used to loose BBs from having had a bunch of Shiros for quite some years now.

Got 'er back in the house and dried inside and out shortly thereafter.

After eyeing the iMamba for quite a while, I finally bought one with the new SW finish slotted blade on caged bearings. I can definitely see the “if CRK made a medium or a flipper”, its nice and I like almost everything about it except the lockbar tension is rather strong. Does that break in any? Ive only had it a day or so.

I'll take too strong over too weak. I've had some very nice and very expensive frame locks that were spoiled by super weak detents.

I have 2 iMambas, a plain jane on washers, and a bearing flipper with warthog inlays. The PJ has a stronger lockbar pressure than the bearing model, and the way it is, it's definitely not a folder that can be flicked open, only slow rolled (it's de-flippered though). I kind of think that the lockbar pressure is a little too strong too, as the blade is a slight bit un-centered, yet doesn't rub or anything. Now that I think about it, I've never taken it apart and cleaned/oiled it, maybe if I did it would be a lot smoother. I'm not sure if you can switch out the washers for bearings, I know a guy on here got bearings from AB for his washer iMamba, however I also know that they've done a few modifications over time on the machining under the scales and don't know if they all are able to be switched to bearings.

I picked up a non flipper stonewashed imamba with carbon snake inlays. Nice knife for sure, feels very good in hand and handles well, but don’t think I’ll keep it. Can’t put my finger on as to why.

Ya know, I just went to take my PJ washer iMamba apart to clean it and realized that the pivot Torx screw is larger than I have a bit for. It's a beefy SOB. I have T-6, T-8, and T-10, and they have worked for me for pretty much every knife I've ever come across. Does anyone know the size that I need to order off the top of their heads? I'm guessing the next size up, a T-12? That's kinda cool that they use a larger pivot.

Edit: Or perhaps the pivot is a T15?

I believe it is a T15, IIRC.

You said T15?
I was making a joke after I realized I posted T15. Haha. I meant to put T25 but my fat fingers didn’t hit the right key and so I was laughing at myself.

My PJ flipper on bearings is near perfect. I’m just glad it didn’t find it first otherwise my search would have been short and much less expensive! 🤣
