around the $100 mark

Went thru the same dilema and settled on the F1 and very happy I did. I love this knife!! Picture is of my F1 with a Light My Fire Army steel and a horizontal carry Kydex sheath made by myself.
I can't post a picture because it is on another post so here is the post.

are his bushcraft knives around 100 or is that a knife that you plan on using as a bushcrafter for around 100? if his bushcraft knives cost that then i will most likely be going for one of those.

Sorry I missed your question before.:foot:
The $100 Koster is his Bushcraft - rather TWO, each at $100, which are on order and pretty close to being ready. He had some more "upscale" ones left after the show but it appears they are gone now. They lasted mere hours and I missed them. It looks like a real winner - can't wait to get them and play.

My longtime favorite ~4" fixed blade for woods stomping was a Buck Vanguard - ~$60 in 420HC - close to $100 in S30V as the Cabels's 'Alaskan Guide'. The newer Buck #408 Kalinga Pro is a super fixed 4.9" S30V upswept blade with a great sheath For ~$100 mail order. Both are US made, with a traditional bevel.

I also love my Bark Rivers - but they start ~$140 and climb up quickly for the North Star, Fox River, Boone, etc. Great convex grind in a next-to-custom-made quality knife & sheath - and what handle choices!

Another choice - from MI's UP - is the Northwoods Knife 'Gladstone Drop Point Hunter', a great bargain ~ $85 - with a serviceable sheath. Below is a BRK&T Fox River on the left, and a Northwoods Gladstone Drop Point Hunter on the right.

I have an RC-3 and it's a nice little knife, but I am going to get an RC-4 one of these days. (and an F1, , and a Huntsman, and a........., and a ........ - and that's just in the $100 range :o)

Unless I missed it, you didn't say what use it will see most, or is it just a general woods bumming knife?
