Around the grinder

I don't know why it was changed, but I really liked "around the grinder" being a forum instead of a "sub-forum" to the Bladesmith....etc.

It seems to be getting alot less postings since it became a "sub-forum"..
It was a good place where knifemakers could communicate about whatever we wanted other than knifemaking stuff....

Any chance that "Around The Grinder" might be re-given its own forum status?
 
I agree, John and whole heartedly so.

When I logged on and saw what had taken place I felt like we had taken a step backward instead of forward. The knifemakers are the backbone of this site. The Around the Grinder forum gives them the recognition that I feel they deserve.
When I log onto the Around the Grinder forum, I feel like I am dropping by to visit my friends and piers. Shop Talk is more like stepping out in public.

On the other hand, Pimpinsquee seems to still be posting like a hermit with high-speed. I'm with both of you though, I was wondering why the change was made.

I love the English language. It can be so picturesque.

Here is a case in point:

A maker of Pimpinsquee's stature can expect straight talk, when "hanging out" with the other makers on the Around the Grinder forum; Where most would feel the need to exhibit some restraint on the other forums offered.

I realize, Around the Grinder, is just a click of the mouse and not an actual location but I feel like our shop has been moved to the boonies:(

My bookmark links directly to the Shoptalk thread list, so Around the Grinder is still at the top of the page where it's always been. I know it changed on the front page of BF, but that doesn't bother me.

Personally, I think any slowdown in traffic is due to "seasonal busies". Besides, a tattooed chick hanging by her hooters is bound to get more airplay, and it's not every day IG can come up with one of those for the boys to hang their tongues out at. :)

I have it bookmarked the same way. I'll keep a eye out for another suitable subject. HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!
