Condor makes a nice leather sheath for their knives and the prices are still low. maybe ka-bar should look down in el salvador and see if there is a factory that can make inexpensive sheaths using leather from down there.

to bad it wasent a sheath for a 7 mine got a few holes form siting to close to the fire id take it off yer hands

This has nothing to do with BK or at all a quality post but I have to say friggen FACEBACON is the best user name I have ever seen!

Cheers to you man...Cheers to you.

Ethan we all know that a common sheath made to accept many knives costs less. I'm not arguing that.

My point was that it costs the same to design & fabricate the liner as it came vs if it wre designed & fab'd to fit the blade. You say you are using the one sheath for other knives which is part of the problem.

I paid $76 for the BK5 with a sheath that I'm not satisfied with.

I'm not buying your argument that it costs too much to make a proper sheath. My other recent purchases tell me otherwise...
I paid $64 for the Cold Steel SRK which included a form fitted plastic sheath that I'm happy with.
I paid $68 for the SOG tech bowie which also came with a properly fitted plastic sheath.

I have a BK17 on pre-order but it's probably the last Becker knife I'll buy until you/kabar get the knife + sheath should match concept right. Your competition is doing it.

All the best,

All the best,

it does NOT cost the same to make a fitted liner. this has been stated. it cannot cost the same, as each liner is now a custom, and mold/dies cost money.

is that your specific complaint? we have asked several times to have you list specific complaints.

apparently you want a fitted plastic sheath. that's not going to happen. sorry.

you offered to send the sheath to Ethan, he accepted. please follow through.

KaBar/Ethan is probably not going to supply you with a free replacement sheath that accepts your criteria either.

KaBar is unlikely to make changes in the near future. they are always tinkering, who knows? not in time to satisfy you.

Ethan designs knives. KaBar makes the sheaths. Ethan does and has approved them. they are acceptable to the general public and even military contracts. they GOOD enough. no one sheath will please everyone.

if you do not like your knife/sheath, i would suggest you either sell it, and move on, or buy a fine custom sheath (and mail your old one to Ethan), be done with it. I'm sure Ethan would be sad to lose a potential customer, but there you are. please insert quote on pleasing everyone referenced above.

i'll be interested in your opinion on the BK17. if you don't like THAT sheath, then there is no hope. it's one of the finest industry sheaths in my opinion.
