Arrows for Gold Membership

If you taped it to the side of a business card, stuck it in an envelope and shipped First Class Mail, the postage would be less than $1.

Paying for Priority International to ship something that sells for around $13 seems like overkill to me.

stop making sense!

If we re-up for another year can we recieve one also?

Will the extra year automatically be added to our current membership?

Even if not, very cool of ESEE!

I guess you have your reasons for using Priority over First Class, but it's crazy that Priority is over 10x the cost of FC.

Because it has tracking and insurance? It's getting shipped properly, in it's original container, in a box with packing material, with a reasonable method of shipping. It's a quality product, so it's going to be sent properly and arrive in the new condition it was sent. I'm not going to take it out of it's box, tape it to a postcard, lie on customs forms, or anything else crazy. The post office tells me it's $20+ so that's what I forward to you guys. If you don't want to pay shipping, don't do it, I'm not twisting your arm. I'm not going to pay for the privilege of sending you an arrowhead though, when the entire point of this is a membership drive to support the forums and doing so negates the money brought in by the membership itself.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. I'm sorry that shipping costs more to Canada, the UK, or wherever, but that's out of my control.

Of course, it'll get tacked onto the end of your current subscription.

We have international people wanting us to ship product we sell from our web site and mark it as a "gift." It's a lie and we won't do it. There are rules regarding overseas shipments and we stick to those rules. Second: if we don't ship with tracking and insurance and something happens then we have no way of proving it was shipped.

I look at it like I am buying the arrow, which I was going to do anyway. Also, I am supporting this forum which I was going to do anyway. So in the end it doesn't matter to me. With the cost of shipping to Canada and the $8.00 for the original is a bit more than if I was buying it here, but really like Spark said, it is a choice. Don't want it, don't do it. For me I understand the situation and support the forum that I am on all day and night learning so much.

Money happily sent. Thanks Spark. Moose

If the purpose was to get new members I'm not sure having first class shipping for a gift (and it is a gift thats not a customs lie) as high as the actual value of the item is the best way to do it.

I applaud ESEE and you spark for trying :), we all know it means extra work for you both but I fear the promotion missed its mark. Maybe next time have a volunteer take them all out of boxes and tape them to cards so people who live in Canada like me can take advantage of your promotion and generosity.

No worries here.
Happily paid the extra shipping.
Thank you to ESEE and BF!!!!
Can't wait to see it.

The promotion worked great for the US members. I'm sorry that postage rates affected the shipping for international members, but that's beyond my control. $27 shipping to Germany / Queensland / UK is high... but those are the rates set by the post office. Those of you who chose to support the forums despite this have my gratitude.

No worries, the shipping rate amounts to what I'd have paid for the arrowhead in Germany including shipping (no local knife-shop carries them).
I just did it for the fun of it. In the long run I'd have bought one of them anyway, so financially it is not a loss and it will still be the cool bladeforums arrowhead for me.

Payment sent ...

got back from my trip of solitude and wasn't too happy about coming in today....
but one of the packages on a chair in my office was from BF.

guess which one I opened first? :)

thanks for the AH-1 and the forum - it's easy for me to want to support!
