I bought some Krylon outdoor acrylic (clear) for metal.
Haven't gotten to it yet, but I'm just going to sand and spray under the scales with that stuff.
I've got several WW-II knives - they do have some rust marks - but I have never done anything other than put some honing oil on 'em. I use these knives and functionally would guess it would take multiples of the 60 years these have got before even my casual care would effect their usefulness. These ain't rollexes - they're tools - a little rust is just not a problem on a knife.
