Ahoy shipmate, only one quote from Long John in that whole scurvy list? By thunder, Cap'n Silver's got a whole broadside of good'uns in the old 1950's TV series (aye, I've got all the DVDs). Pearls of such like as "jump lively you lazy scum", and "belay, belay, ye mutinous maggots", or my favorite, spoken to a French officer, "that be the sharpest knife in the galley sticking in your gizzard, one false move out of you and I'll cut you in two". Aaargh, good old Long John, no fine fop or gentleman of quality could ever match his swivel tongue for eloquence.
Oh, as I was a rollin' down Saint George's street (street in Saint Augustine where you'll find the Taberna del Gallo, good place to have a few pints),
Weigh, hey, blow the man down,
A charming young damsel I'd chance for to meet,
Give me some time to blow the man down
Aaargh, this version be a bit of a love song matey, but I'll reef my sails a'fore I run foul of a spit (family forum ain't it)
