I realize that the Blade Show is now OLD news :D

but.... some of you will recall that Tom Ferry, Jon Christensen, Mike Vagnino and Dave Lisch had a booth together as Artisans of Cutlery.....ACE

I met some of the guys at the CKCA dinner the night before, and came by their booth the next day and was really impressed by the booth, the concept and of course...the KNIVES.

As it turned out, I ended up with a knife from each of them....and ended up winning the raffle knife as well.

Thought I would present a "group shot"

Mike Vagnino

I was able to be present at the "birth" of this shot, since Coop and I live in the same state - I learned alot about why my own picture taking needs work:D

Bill, that is a striking collection of great looking knifes! Congrats.

Holy

Congrats - that's an enviable instant knife collection right there. Beautiful pieces all.

And posts like this are never "old news" to me.

Bill glad to see that photo, I enjoyed both their show and booth. Great group of guys and super talented makers. Nice to see that you got one of each and the raffle knife. Great photo of the lot.

Congratulations, Jon

Congrats on your blade show scores. They are all beauty's, and you sure don't mess around when you go knife shopping.:thumbup:

Wow, what a great group shot! Congrats on some fine pieces, they're all beautiful.

COOL Bill. Great acquisitions. Congratulations!

That was a great group of artisans in that booth with some killer displays.

I handled several of those knives and enjoyed spending time chatting with a few of those guys.

What a great insta-collection:thumbup: The Christensen is especially interesting, however all these knives are fantastic.
Good on you for supporting the movement:thumbup:

WoW! Bill, I am adding that photo to my portfolio. It was great meeting you and your son at the CKCA show and again at the Blade Show. Your support of the ACE Booth really drove it home for us that we where doing the right thing, Thank you, and I would like to Thank Kevin Jones for putting on the CKCA show and banquet on. It is a very good way for collectors and makers to meet and chat and enjoy good food and great knives.
If your not a member of CKCA, join now

Dave and the rest of the "ACE guys" are really a great bunch and who knows, maybe the Pacific Northwest is becoming the newest hotbed in the knife world.

Them good ol Southern boys better watch out...:p

Bill

looks to me that you have Five Aces with that group. You certainly were not taking a gamble but you scored a great pot. Very kewl knives and from a great bunch of knifemakers and friends. Hey, ACE's someone send me email as I might be into the Pacific NW this summer and could maybe stop by for a visit. I always love to come back to Seattle to visit UW just to keep up on how things look since '64.

Bill - who did what on the collaboration piece? It's a captivating design that I am repeatedly drawn to even among this terrific group.

Roger

Roger, if I am not mistaken, Dave forged the blade and guard, Tom did the engraving, and I think they both had something to do with the handle.

If I am mistaken, I hope one of the guys will chime in and correct me:D

here's a Coop montage for ya...

Those are some beautiful knives! Congratulations!

Nice, Bill. I knew you'd get some traction showing these off. There is something for everyone. Thanks for the opportunity.

^^ Ferry/Lisch collab: I love that little medallion in the center of the blade. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but it's a plus. So is that subtle finger ridge at the bottom of the handle.

You can't see it, and I didn't snap it, but that stag buttcap has his funky face carved in it by Dave Lisch. :)

Jon's Sheath REALLY makes his package complete. Let's see again:

Bill has a final surprise for you from the group. All in good time....
