Artist or knifemaker?

Just because she doesn't make specific claims about the knives does not absolve her of responsibility for the obvious interpretations of her work. People are buying a story, and only a story. This is a hustle. Good for her, I guess. To answer the thread title, she is both a knife maker and an artist, and in neither respect is she pushing herself or her work.

Edit: oh yeah and don't even get me started on those "cutting boards" for $100.

Good point about story. In my own work, no matter how good at it I am, and I am rather good at it if I say so myself, and now matter how well the results speak for themselves, I find that I have to tell a story to go along with it. Ms. Miller is telling a pretty good story.

Now you got me thinking...

I guess I have a good story to go with my products... if it means selling yourself. Mindfu**ed infantry veteran turned meth dealer for biker associates gets sober and makes knives?

Her story is still better because she has boobs.

And she lives in Williamsburg Brooklyn which immediately means she can double her prices because it comes from hipster Mecca.

Have you seen how much money people pay for Starlingear?

A sucker is born every minute.

Could buy titanium or gold for that price.
Matter of fact a few of those beads and you could buy some of the best steel with titanium fittings in a custom. I would spend some real money on some titanium or quality steel.. But I guess mostly starlingear is just not my taste. I'd rather buy titanium or spend my money on gold or some engravings on my gear. Just my preference. Some skulls are classy looking. I hate the look of some stuff that is being made like that... Honestly it looks like Ed Hardy barfed on a knife. Some classy engravings or titanium/carbon fiber/tritium etc.. would be a much better investment.
I buy titanium products and materials because it is a material that is almost perfectly impervious almost every kind of corrosion or oxidation.. (except anodic and I think galvanic maybe)
I buy carbon fiber because it is strong and hard and will hold up.
I buy tritium because it is useful in no light settings like survival or dusk/dawn. It is great on buttons and handles as a visible reference..
Honestly gold, silver, engravings, or beads just comes down to personal preference.

I don't know.. You make some really nice stuff, and have experience as well. I would much rather buy a custom knife from a infantry vet than about anyone else. Your all right. I can kind of relate to that actually. haha

If I'm going to buy gold/silver, I'm buying .9999 pure/assayed bars.

I wear a watch that retails for just over $12k... in steel.
