I've gone and done another deal with member Sheathmaker. I'm as happy as always with the results. Now most of you wouldn't spend a dime putting a Frost-Parker knife in a decent sheath, but I got a folding dagger a few years ago by Parker-Frost. Absolutely fascinated by it and I now have a few, some elaborately scrimshawed, some with MOP handles. I carry one often enough that I thought I ought to have a sheath... but why settle for a simple 'folder' sheath when this 'boot style' knife lends itself to carrying it open, also showing off the handle? So one of each, Paul, and here is what he provided.

Solid holding power! The keeper is removeable on the 'open blade' sheath, and I actually judge it unnecessary. The sheath for carrying one closed is very very secure, but easy to withdraw the knife, thumb and forefinger on the double guard bolster.

But leave aside my eclectic tastes in knives a moment and just consider the work, and the fact that this sheathmaker loves a good challenge.

Thanks Paul!

I had a similar experience with this little Marbles. I had always had wanted a Marbles just because it is a classic in its own way. I sliced through the factory sheath within minutes of getting the knife. After several months I stumbled upon a reference to sheathmaker. Turns out he only lives about 25 or so miles from me. I talked to him on the phone and sent him the Marbles. I got it back with the new leather within a couple of days. Yes, just a couple of days. I told him the sheath is nicer than the knife. Not more than a week or so later I sent him the stag Dozier. Mailed to him on a Wednesday and received it back the following Saturday. Both sheaths come standard lined with pigskin(?). Paul is a real gentleman to deal with and makes a most excellent sheath. No kidding.

Thank you both for the glowing posts. The lining in my standard sheaths is #1 grade deer skin.
