I was wondering if any of you had experience with these type drill bits. :http://www.artu.com/drillbits.htm

The marketing hype on them sounds pretty good--just wanted to check if others had real world experience.

Thanks for any feedback/experience.

They're interesting. They don't cut so much as grind and they eat through hardened 5160 with ease.

Keep in mind, the sizes do run slightly large and they're not well suited for drilling handle material as they rarely give a clean exit hole, even when using a backing.

Definitely worth a try though just to see if they suit you.

I have used that type (not sure it was the same brand) and they work great for drilling tangs.

They have a multi-purpose bit called the "artu-detu" which does almost everything. Only problem with it is that it makes an annoying whistle/squeek sound. ;)
