Marking the guide hole.I use the Measurement from the toe for both sides.

Making sure the hole is in the right spot. Should follow edge.

Would love to get my hands on one of those forest service sharpening guides. Not sure if GSA still has them(Will check),I have had that one for years.
Just got the same info. you could Make them cheaper.I found the gauge. Did a Google search for it. It was $30+ ea. No returns or exchanges. I'm thinking NOT!
The handtool sharpening gauge is available from the General Services Administration, item number: NSN 5210-01-324-2776, NFES 0510.
