As a BCCI Member, what kind of Club Knife offering in a 110 would you like to see?

Are we talking the "Members Only" knife or the "fund raiser" knife?

Dave, Im told that it will be a knife marketed by Bruce Dollinger online. I don't know if that means members only or BCCI approved and labeled.
I do have a youth knife to donate though so watch for that.

I really don't know how this works.

Are knives and labor donated by those involved?

Does all profit go to the club?

If not how are the profits split up?

Hmmm, the only "club" and "fund raiser" knives that I've seen Bruce offer on eBay have been what I have assumed to be left overs from the BCCI that didn't sell and those had always been offered in the newsletters to members first. I might have missed some but I watch his auctions fairly regularly.

I will get allot of frowns when I say this but another 110 BCCI Knife sounds like a bore and uninteresting. I would like to see a tricked out Carbon fiber Vantage with some sort of cool inlay, a mirror polished blade made of 154 cm or another cool steel.

second idea is a 300 series matching set (301, 303, 305 and 309) with micarta or G10 scales, file work.

I like the sound of all those!

I'd personally like to see the club move away from the 110's and 112's for a few years. I'd prefer perhaps a nicely done 113 instead and with real wood, not Dymondwood. I've more than likely bought my last club 110 or 112 for awhile.

The club offerings have indeed gotten stale.

Too many folders and way too much S30V.

A change is badly needed.

Yes, a fixed-blade would be a great change, but we need something a little (or maybe a lot) bigger than a 113).

I'm not a member, but I would push my mother in front of a bus to have a chance to buy a 112 with a drop point blade made in 1095 steel.

There are only so many old Schrades or similar with 1095 blades floating around on the auction sites. Meanwhile, companies like GEC and Utica and Bear & Sons are reviving or keeping alive the interest in 1095, but nary a proper lock back is in sight.

A drop point 112 with 1095 steel? I can't think of anything currently made that fits that bill. From what I hear from collectors outside of the Buck world, I would think Buck would grab some attention with a knife like that.

Dave,
I think you may have jogged my memory, Bruce sells the leftover Members only knives and the Youth Knives are available to auction on the site under communications, then Club Member Topics, the BCCI Member Service and Support.

A fixed blade would be nice, but not overly ornate. Well made with premium wood and steel. I guess I'm saying about what plumber said.

It seems as though alot of you would like to see a fixed blade, I have only experience with full tang fixed blades and alot of the Buck fixed are hidden tang, so I may need to stay away from this for awhile until the time is right.

The news that Buck is producing a 124 this year may offer some new possibilities.

Ivory Micarta? I'd sure love that.

:)

It was full tang in the catalog pics we got......I'm hoping that's for real.

It occurred to me they might have used an old picture.

The recent ones HAVE been handled like the 120, but I sure hope the new 124 is FULL.
