As Long As We're On The Subject

I don't recollect running into anyone that knew it all or even had their minds made up.

I've met a few that thought they knew it all and thought they had minds but I'm quite certain they were optimistic in both regards.
Some just recently in fact.
I don't know nothing about other brands so I can't contribute even at the risk of Mr. Karda's hammer of thor befallen on me.

Other than the movie Tora, Tora, Tora I don't even know what a Tora is. Guess I'll put on my intelligence gathering hat and google it.

Good luck on your quest.

Searches on this forum may turn up some information. Tora may still have a forum and if so that could be another good source of information.

Fellows, It seems to me that regardless of what ever is being discussed on God's green Earth, that if one obtains information about something from another person, then that information is merely second hand and should be suspect because of bias. From personal experience, when writing reviews for 4 articles, one magazine, and one website (and in the last 6 weeks), I obtained the item being reviewed from the company who sells such, did the reviews, and then returned the item (if the company so desired). This provided me with first hand information that no one else could skew, intentionally or not.

Bookie- See above where I said I'll be obtaining a sample, and I'm looking for others' experiences to add to the deal.
I've been doing this for 25 years, I know what I need & how to do it. :)

Howard- Thanks for the suggestion.

I know I'm a gonna get a time out for this and frankly I probably deserve it.

Couple of rather new and to me overbearing flying at a higher altitude than the rest of us fellas around of late. Makes the forum not as fun or enjoyable.

I find the latest response rather rude and uncalled for.

For the above mentioned folks and I'm sure they don't know who they are (too conceited) I suggest pulling your lower lip over your head and swallowing.

Lord I apologize. Mr. Karda, Mr. Wallace, and Mr. Steely I anticipate and PM and written thrashing.
I deserve it and will put on my big boy pants and take it like the half man, oh that's not popular, full man that I am.

Lord I apologize.

Could you post some linkies to some of your reviews? I bet there are some that would love to read them. Were all nuts for reviews be it guns or knives! Im up for it. Thanks in advance:thumbup:

Baw,
If that was directed at me, I'll just say that my purpose in starting this thread was, it seemed to me, extremely simple.
It's gone on with one helpful response, from Dirtbiker, into extended post counts with very little useful info.

That's what I needed, not responses telling me they know nothing about Tora, or telling me how to do what I do. :)
I've explained clearly what I need.

Howard's suggestion was helpful, Bookie's was not.
What I'm trying to do can only benefit HI, which I think would be obvious & welcome to the members of this forum.

NDog,
PM sent.

Denis

Dirt,
PM on the way shortly.
Denis

Oops- no email path in your profile.
You have another channel I can try?

Sorry, Denis. Evidently I did not communicate well enough. I did not offer a suggestion. I was merely stating what I did in a similar situation.

Bookie,
Just a bit of exasperation in trying to maintain focus & get the requested info. :)
Didn't mean it to sound like I was dumping on you & apologize if it came across that way.

Dirtbiker provided the type of response I need.
Howard suggested a source I wasn't aware of. Been to the Tora site, but did not know they had a forum.
Both very helpful.
Out of 32 posts in this thread. :)

DB,
Can you please email me through this forum?
I'll keep an eye on that address.
Thanks.
Denis

Ok gonna chime in here. Before I go on just know that there is some bad blood between HI and the owner of Tora, a few years back he was badmouthing HI on several levels, you will have to archive the rest on the subject. Owning both I can tell you that HI has been the most consistent since I have been here. I have been here since 2009 and have owned over 40 HI khuks. I will say that the older Toras were pretty nice as well, but that was short lived as the Kami' (s) they used left for other work, they struggled to find other Kami's, but in my humble opinion the quality fell short, they had several people on there forum complaining about it. Unfortunately the owner being the mod of the site, would remove the negative posts so others could not see them. I dont know if he is still selling as I have not been there forever. I hoped this helped out some.

Ok Folks. I'll settle this.....
Uncle Bill did used to allow discussions of the competition with one caveat: That the discussions were civil and honest and that the competitors were not disparaged.... Heck he even graciously allowed two owners of said business to discuss things here on this very forum. Both times it bit him in the behind and did no one any good. Least of all HI.

I don't have a problem discussing vintage or antique knives and khukuris in this forum... but due to the past history and actions of especially this particular subject matter, we will not be having discussions of competitors products on this forum. Those type of discussions and comparisons are better suited to other areas of this site.

I hope you understand.
