I thought about the fake rocks, burying the key or carrying an extra but ended up buying a lock box and anchoring it to the side of the house.

Get something CHEAP!!!!! If you don't like paracord, get those ball and link steel chains. The kind that's worn with dog tags.

I don't think it's a terribly good idea to put a house key in a wallet that has your address in it.

I did away with locks all together: just use the poo-poo on all door handles ........... Ok, this system has some deawbacks, but I am working on it...............

Heh - more than a dozen replies, all telling you to do something different to your original question - I love this place.

Try these guys. It's the brand the surfers use, designed to stay on at all costs and deal with corrosive environments.

I often carry a white flat plastic whistle under my shirt on a simple lanyard made from a piece of white knitting yarn, it's inexpensive, easy to make, light, breakaway, does not print, strong enough for such a small thing, if it gets dirty or breaks I just make a new one.

John, I use these for quick clips on my keys, much more secure that the spring loaded quick releases and take up less space.

What size works the best for you ? 20mm 25mm or 35mm ?

Just remember the breakaway. And yea, I thought the idea of a key in your wallet with your ID was stupid (some wallets even have a spare key holder)

A housekey in the wallet is a definite no-no. However, it isn't such a bad idea to have a spare car key in the wallet. As one who has locked myself out of my car more than once, it's an easier fix than scrounging around for a wire hanger, or worse, a rock.

Carry two wallets, one for cash and one for ID/ cards. Keep the key in the cash wallet that doesnt have ID?

Wait a minute, this is GADGETS and gear I should be suggesting you get a fingerprint lock!

Aren't you smart. What if you forget to refresh and somebody comes along with a golf club to see how far they can 'drive' that dried up terd? That happening, the key is exposed only to be turned into schrapnel that hits your leg after you run over it with a lawnmower? Some people!

Cindy, is this something that has happened to you? No wonder you hate mowing the lawn so much!:D

Well, here' s a different look at it. If you wear a belt everyday, you can hide one or a few keys if you have a flap sewn onto its interior. Or you can be satisfied with the nylon types that already have a long zip pouch sewn in that was made as a travellers "money" belt. Just don' t lose your pants!
