Well I got mine the other day and it immediately shot to the top of my list. It has an incredibly comfortable handle, ergos and grip are top notch. Fits my hand like a glove. I much prefer the LE over the fatty CG as I have small hands. The blade length is great and I think it'll chop nicely, but I haven't tried that yet, but I will this weekend. Very nice balance as well.

I know I may get stomped for this comment but I like this blade much better than my TigerMag SFNO. The shorter blade and handle design make it just a tick better if you ask me. If you have the opportunity to get your grubby hooves on one do it now. Don't hesitate. And it will surely bring big money down the line in resale.

I contacted Dan at Semper Paratus Tactical about a sheath. His stuff is top notch bullet proof stuff with Brian Wagner liners. Can't beat that. Best kydex in the best ballistic nylon.

I like the ASH-1 LE over the SFNO. :)

If you lay the ASH-1 blade over the SFNO blade, and align them at the choil,
they are basically the same blade. The ASH-1 has a slight bit more of a drop point,
which shortens the blade by about a 1/4 of an inch.
The Ricasso and pommel on the SFNO are a bit longer than on the ASH-1s.

So to me... what you get is the SFNO blade on a more compact straight handle.
The ASH-1 LE is way more comfortable in the hand to me...
And, has better balance than the SFNO for me as well.

So... I'm with you! :D

I agree! It is my new favorite!

I told my wife this knife is so perfect I could get rid of all my other knives and not even care! She asked me when I was going to sell them and I told her right before the divorce;)

No.... The next one is always going to be the best one. Otherwise how can I justifying buying one when it comes along :-)

Yeah the SFNO and ASH-1 LE are very similar blade wist. I prefer the drop on the ASH-1. I have a leather drop loop SFNO sheath from Leatherman and the ASH-1 LE fits almost perfectly. Good enough for me.

I am in agreement with you two. I love the grip on the ash. I like the look of the sarsquatch grip also. Anything that gets us away from the fusion and tac grips. My small to medium hands have never grown 100% accustomed to those grips. Although I have had a slight revival in love towards my BATAC's with mags. Straighter, shorter handle ratios are my cup of tea.

Lil' Foo: or anyone else... If you get the chance could you post a pic with the ASH1 laying over the SFNO so as to see this comparison.

Note: If you have already done so then disregard this post. Most pics are blocked here at work. :o Thanks.

I think you'll like the LE even better.
It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWEET!

I'm gonna have to be the heretic here, but I think I still like the HR better than the ASHLE's. Since getting my LE, I've handled it quite a bit, and I will say that I like it WAAAAY better than the combat grade. It's a beauty of a blade and feels great in hand. That said, if I didn't have a Hell Razor, it would definately be at the top of my mid-size list.

Since I do have a HR, I just don't think the LE is gonna bump it from the top seat. I like the blade height of the Razor better, as well as the handle ergos. I'm in love with them both, but I think I have to give my razor the slight edge in this one.

Now if there was a HR with a flat spine all the way to the tip like the LE (basicaly just don't have the swedge on the HR), I'd be in Heaven!

Guess I'll be in the minority on this one :D

I think Ban could help you out with that. It would be cool to see a Razor mod. Not many out there.

Some good analysis here... but I would really like to see some comparison pics between the SFNO, CGASH1, and ASH1LE.

I really love the LE and I like it better than the CG. Its not heavy and I REALLy like that about it because I dont feel like I need to chop with something that is too small to chop with, it slices well and handles nicely. Its exactly what it should be at this size a blade. I am very glad jerry made this as thin as he did. I dont know if I like it better than the SFNO I just know I like it.

I wont be able to post pics until later today...

Gotta go do that work thing.

No worries and no rush. I was just curious.

The CG feels superb to me. My all time favorite mid is the NO-E. The ASH1 my change that. Maybe. Maybe not. Either way it is a great knife.

Hey Mike, do you mind if I piggy back on your order? :D

+1 on the ASH1LE. It fits my hand better than all other production busses and it looks darn cool too.
