Could some one point me in the direction of where I could find an ash-1?

There are a select bunch of Hogs that swoop in on ASH1s as they appear.... so you need to act fast if you want to rush away with a prize...!!!! Well so I hear anyway....... ;)

I have also found ASH's on ebay. But Andy's correct - you have to be quick - and dilligent. I have custom software installed that sounds an alarm whenever an ASH comes up for sale on BF, Ebay, GunBroker.com, and Proxibid. com. Good luck, and...Cheers.

Is it the ASH-1 or the Skinny ASH or the ASH- LE or the ASH SE or a custom shop ASH ? Maybe a ASH-1 with standard scales or a ASH-1 with Magnum scales ?
There is a whole lot of ASH's out there :)

I like saying ASH

The main difference is thickness. The skinny ASH-1 is .195 and the fat ASH-1 is .320. I don't have a comparison photo handy, will try to get one tomorrow if someone here doesn't post one first. In the mean time here is some info from badmojo.net on the ASH variations.

Specs: INFI 6.5" blade * 12" OAL * 5.5" handle * Introduced December 2007

* CG are .320" thick... some double cut, mostly coated
* Skinny are .195" with a full convex... all coated
* LE, SE & Customs are .220" thick with a full height grind... mostly satin

Yeah, that's in the info I posted from BadMojo.net. Fixed the info so it is better arranged now....;)
... they show the LE and SE but then there are a smattering of CGS as well in .22 ...unless they are lumping them in as SEs ... ;)

I am on the hunt for another .22CG :D :D as I don't want to modify the one I already have.

I'm assuming those are lumped in with the SE's based on the "Mostly Satin" comment, meaning there are coated that exist at that thickness. I was just trying to remember if I had ever seen an ASH in the .25 thickness range..... I saw a saber ground ASH-1 on fleabay a couple weeks ago too. I believe it was a custom shop piece.

usarmy74d,

Welcome to the Busse forum!

The ASH1 grips are usually made of either canvas micarta or G-10. The main difference is the width of the grips; there are 2 sizes, "standard" (flat-sided) & "magnum" (contoured sides). The magnum grips are thicker. The standard grips were an option on the fat ASH1, and the 2007 SE model has standard grips. While many people seem to prefer the magnum grips, with my medium size hands, I like either grip size.

While I have never seen a .25" thick ASH1, who knows for sure - there could be one or a few from the custom shop.

Thanks for all the replys, ill be searching daily if not hourly for it. I'm not gonna knit pick on which ash-1 I get ill take what ever I can snatch up. This is the first knife that I've wanted that isn't readily available, kind of makes it all the more desirable.

Could anyone describe the difference in feel between the Skinny Ash-1 and the .220 LE? Also, any real difference between the LE and SE?

Thanks!
