ASH 2: my favorite busse

I recently picked this Ash2 up. It is a nice size.

With a Pirtlemade sheath.

Great knife and great sheath, congrats !!!

Now is that a Pontiac hood I'm seeing there ???

This guy knows his classic muscle.

Ahh I thought so ! First guess I'm thinking 70 GTO, but hard to tell. Those scoops could be late 60's bird or GTO + 1970

Looks like some nice custom candy paint :-) love my pontiacs as much as knives lol

Great pics slowride11. I had and sold an FSH but kept the ASH-2. The FSH is a beauty but thick and heavy for its length, while the ASH-2 is light and fast.

Thank you ^^^ that answers that question, I've got NMFSH. But now I'm thinking of trying to score an ASH2, how does it compare with say an NMSFNO ?

Great question. The ASH2 and NMSFNO are two of my favorites -- both relatively long and quick in hand. I can't remember the exact specs, but the ASH2 feels slightly longer, more like a chopper, while the NMSFNO is a versatile, do-it-all blade. I'd have a hard time choosing between the two, mostly because I prefer the ASH2's straight handle to the Special Forces handle of the NMSFNO but there's something special about the NMSFNO. As much as I love the ASH2, it's pretty long for certain cutting tasks while the NMSFNO can handle just about anything. These are two of Busse's finest medium-long blades.

NMSFNO --- phenomenal blade. It's blade length is 8.25 inches long, .25 inches thick, nuclear treatment spine(rounded), and it weighs 21 oz

ASH-2 ---- also a phenomenal blade. It's blade length is a little over 9 inches, .22 inches thick, and it weighs about 20-21 oz

ASH-2 is more neutrally balanced . . . The NMSFNO is Blade Heavy.

You can't go wrong with either

For me it's a great all rounder and a definite competitor for best 1 knife solution.

My first Buses, a TGLB, was my favorite Buses for a long time until I received my Ash-2. After handling it and getting pants for it from Patriot leather, it quickly became my favorite.l I really love this knife and sheath comb. Several pics are posted in the picture sticky..:D

ASH-2 killed the crap out of my pinky when I smacked some hard wood. Not a vibration wiggle, sharp pain. It's very well balanced for a big knife for sure though. It didn't work for me but that's the great thing about all of these options.
