ASH vs ASH1 and how many versions thinner than CG?

Here's a spine shot of the SE with standard scales (bottom knife... top is a SFNO with standard snakeskin)

And both the SEs and LEs are .220" thick... the skinny's are .1875" (3/16") thick.

.

Is that a fatty SFNO there, Foo?

Oh wait...it just looks fatty because of the shadow. I can see at the back that it's a regular one. MAN my heart skipped beats there. I got it bad...

The one in front is the same one in the close up pics, which is my favorite.
I haven't seen it on that many of them.

I gotta go with you on that one .....If I ever see that one on sale in the for sale forum....! :D

I picked up an ASH1 CG from a forum member a couple weeks ago (green blade with black magnum G-10)....just rcv'd A-1 Okuden kydex for it yesterday......WOW!!! And I'm still looking at ASH1's...I have issues!

Ummm, we all have those issue brother... :o

What are the differences between the 2008 Limited Edition ASH1 in Tiger micarta and the Blade 2008 Special Edition ASH1? I know the Blade SE has two-tone G-10 handles, but what about specs, thickness, scale size, blade shape etc? They seem pretty similar.

The 2008 LE ASH1 ir really 07/08 LE offered direct from Busse combat.
It's Satin, .220" thick, with Tigerhide linen micarta mags.

There are two Special Edition (SE) ASH-1s... 2007 & 2008
The 2007 is .220" thick, double cut (bead blast), with standard green & black G-10... pictured here

The 2008 SE is satin... not sure of the blade thickness, with G-Rex style G-10 scales that look to be mags. the G-Rex is black g-10 bolster ans spacer with black & tan G-10 inlay.

All the SEs are marked 2007 or 2008 Special Edition

Tigerhide LINEN micarta Mags.

Nice catch, Foo! I had no idea--just compared and can now see the difference between the linen tigerhide on the ASHLE handles and the FBM's with canvas tiger hide mags (FBMLEs, MOFBMs). Had no idea the ASHLEs were linen--I see nothing about that in the description on the Busse Combat "Knives" page showing the options on the CG ASH and the ASHLE.

Thanks for the clarification!

:)

I think it was in the thread Jerry made for the unveiling of the ASH LEs.
I love the linen micarta... if it has a pattern cut into it, linen all the way!
And canvas for hand shaped.

And a huge thanks to you Will for donating one of your Basic 9s to Noss for the destruction test!
Very cool of you!

You and all who have graciously expressed appreciation for the donation of the B9 to Noss are entirely welcome--my pleasure. I hope some of you found the results as interesting as I did.

Thanks again,
