After getting a feel for this a little better I worked on my favorite user.

I have never had a knife close to as sharp as this. I have plenty of hair popping and newspaper pushcutters and all that, but never like this. I think I just found my perfect combo for the type of edge I want on my Busse Knives. I just had to share this. I was a little worried when I realized how sharp this is. The CG just went to a new level and is now with out any doubt in my mind the most sick knife that I own.

I convexed mine, but kept the edge pretty beefy still. It will shave, push cut a phone book etc.. I have sharper knives but they're too thinned out for what I want the ASH to be. A good polished edge sure does help though!

230, this is not to thin. I have had it this thin for a while now and that edge is not going anywhere. The only difference here is how I finished the edge.

Hey Pepper:) I used one grit belt followed by a leather belt with white compound.

I sat in front of a pile of newspaper cutting it to little pieces for a while. I could not stop:confused: Towards the end I decided to try to make a video. At first it was going through the paper in silence. By the time it got to this video it was making a little noise, but I still did not feel any drag.

In this video I was just trying to go in different directions and cut sloppy to show it is sharp and not technique. At the very end you can see where it slices a piece out without me even realizing.

I know this stuff gets old but its new to me:D

OMG! ......That is a great demo of sharpness! Just really cool...thanks for posting.

I really like the curves and how it is sharp ''stem to stern''.

Very nice work. I never manage to get my blades THAT sharp when I use the belt, but I definitely get them sharper than most factory edges.

I've always appreciated the CGASH 1.
I may have to go after mine...with the belt.

Yes that is what they call Stupid Sharp. :D

Great job.

Great video, I didn't have any newspaper around, but I had a very thin catalog. I was tempted to go into my work shop and take it to the sander/leather to try and get it scary sharp because I was doing a lot of chopping today and splitting kindling but I was lazy and just did a quick stropping on my jeans before the video. A polished convex edge IMO is simply the best, it can turn a big fat knife like a cg ash into a sledgehammer backed laser.
