Hi Guys,

In this thread I'm trying to guide you through the finishing process of my sabre Ash1.

One one side of the knife we had to remove some more steel so the grinds were nicely the same on both sides. So we had to do some more grinding.

Here's the grinding machine used to grind the sides off the knife (to create the sabregrind)...

The knife is kept in place on a large magnet...for security (so the knife won't slip off the magnet by the power of the stone) there are several steel plates surrounding the knife.

Time for some action...

Next step were the tube-fasteners. First to remove the burrs...

Then the tubes got a heattreat so they wouldn't teare when flaring. We didn't know if this was really neccesary but I like the pics anyway...

I have no pics of the handles being attached sorry...

Next is the fit and finishing

some more INFI loving going on...

Some irregularities in the steel required a power tool...

Last step is to demagnetize the knife... I suppose this is one thing not allways done by Busse so that's why some of the knives are magnetic...

In the next post some pics of the finished knife when out in the woods today...

WOW!!! That looks great!!

The Saber Grind really cranks up the cool-factor. Looks a little like a baby SFNO at the blade!

That has got to be the SWEEETest ASH1 on the planet!!!!.

Thanks for sharing the process, it was very interesting!!

That looks really sweet, I like the contrast of the sabre grind there and it looks like you did a real good job on everything.

That's nothing short of spectacular! Can I come over and play at your house?:o:D

I guess if you've got all of those tools you have to find a way to play with them. That came out very nice. Great pics of the progress.

Wow! Tremendous work and craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing and making me drool all over my keyboard. :D
