For some reason, when I see a saber grind on the Ash1 it looks more "outdoor-ish" to me.

Maybe because it looks more like the SNFO sabers.

Thinking I need to find a good surface grinder, and have mine made into a saber.

Yep....that's what's needed. The maker I sent mine too ended up having to free hand it. Not an easy task to do.

You might want to try Tom Krein. His re-grinds are flawless and the price isn't that bad for what you get.

Those knives look awesome. Tim's mod is super clean and very impressive. I really dig it.

That Saber Grind ASH1 is also very very nice. Them saber grinds are a real pain to do by hand. Surface grinders are the way to go for that job.

....and we also used a surface grinder for my Ash1.

@Solstice: This was also my HOGAsh1 and is indeed even more special with the sabre treatment...
