ASHBM - tang construction? Hollow, LB, or Solid?

I remember someone posting some cool pics of X-rays of a few of the hidden tang Busses a few months ago.

Hmm. I wear a xxl glove and my hand measures 4.25 across the palm and 7.5 to the tip of my middle finger. NMFSH feels fine in the hand chopping. Haven't handled a mistress of any type tho. I can compair it directly to the browning comp cutter tho which feels smaller and gives me pinkie rub. My hands are not overly long, just chunky like a cinder block.

I had a Browning Crowell Comp Chopper and it was pretty comfortable.

You won't know until you take them out there and start chopping. Your hands may prefer a straight handle or a fusion handle. How did you like the Dogfather?

I like to try them all so I know what works for me. So far it's only been straight handles that didn't work for me. I get a little vibration with the basic 11 but I'm still keeping it. The 1111 is a great value. The 1311 is an absolute joy to chop with.

You're absolutely correct. I need to just use them.

The DF I tested was a CG. It really impressed me, but wasn't as sharp from the factory as it could have been. Res-C handles are very comfortable. Some people complain that the SY Basic type handle is too small, but I found it comfortable. I really liked the forward center of gravity too.

I passed on the 1311 offering and sold all of my other 11 series knives to fund a few large Infis.

My buddy has a Dogfather and I definitely want one. I like my INFI but I like the big Scrapyards too.

The DF was the first large Busse(kin) I owned, and it is still among my favorites. If you get a chance to pick one up - I'd say GO FOR IT! its unfortunate that they've climbed above $300 in CG form now. Its hard to justify spending $300 on 10" SR77 when you can order an ASHBM for $487 and get 11" of INFI.

Thw Browning just beats my little finger up more. I do love that knife tho. For the cost I think it was real hard to beat. My NMFSH bits deeper(its aloe a lot heavier) and takes use I would be scared to throw at the browning. The browning feels so lively in the hand though and has become a favorite one knife for the woods. Maybe that means I need a BWM?

Hand size hehe he you guys :)

The SYKCO 1111 is currently available from the shop for $220 + shipping, if you're ok with SR-101 steel.
