Ok... I know it's really early to start thinking about this, but I fibured that I would put this out here incase there's any knowledge about it yet. They want us all to put in for our vacation time for the whole year in the first quarter this year or we 'may not get the time off that we prefer' or something like that.

I know ashokan is usually at the end of september, but is it known yet which weekend precisely that it will be held? I dont want to miss this one!

Try calling Tim Neu at The Ashokan Center and see if he's got the dates yet?

For the past 15 years it has been the third weekend of september, but I can check on the dates and let you know

Sam, one of us needs to bring a small propane stove for coffee and breakfast. Or maybe instant coffee and MREs... If Aldo didn't wake us up I would have missed lunch too! :p

Wow I just realized that was two years ago, I gotta make it this year!

I am putting this note here to let folks know that we will soon have some information to update people on a probable change dealing with Ashokan 2010. Do not worry! This will not be a scheduling change, and Ashokan will go on as always, just sometimes life throws a cruve ball at things and you have to adapt and keep moving all the same. Dan, Tim and I are putting are heads together and evaulating whether this year will be same theme or not.

I will keep you updated.

This doesn't bode well....I'll be there regardless, but I don't like surprises :)

I made two new swords today. A wakizashi and a claymore. Pics later after finishing them.

If there's anything I can do(not that it will help :)), let me know Kevin.

This working out or town thing has really put a damper on me doing any knifemaking but I hope to get to Ashokan this year.

I am waiting for the go ahead to say that the change is for sure, but circumstances have arisen that may make 2010 a normal bladesmithing seminar, and the Sword Ashokan would be swapped with next year, putting Sword Ashokan in 2011.

:(

I hope if it comes to pass that it's not due to any hardship or badness for anybody.

I will be there, too. I'm already paid up. Knives or swords, it is the best weekend one can spend with fellow bladesmiths.
