Registration deadline for regular price is today folks, so if you have been delaying this, you might want to make that decision today to save some coin !

It was a quick weekend, always are, but what great weather we had for this occasion! and next year...SWORD year, so you folks that didn't make it this year, be prepared for next year as that is always a good draw with swords on deck!

My photography lacked some this year, as my ankle was limiting my travels down to the forges, so to see some examples of the work around the forges, take a peek at some past years for those, in the mean time here are some images from lectures, I'll take up three posts to put in the images.

Tim Neu on the left working the sign in and name tag table, outside the lecture hall

Zach Zembko an up and coming knife maker/leatherworker admiring a quick build whip by Andy Porter outside the lecture hall, his dad John is also a very good knife maker too !

My wife's uncle Warren aka LoneWolf, we've been going to Ashokan for a very long time!

Centrifugal Casting Techniques by Page Steinhardt, very interesting stuff right there! taught how to cast your guards, pommels, fittings and a variety of about anything you can think of!

Here's a taste of some of his engraving, NOW the crazy part is, these pieces I took photos of, late at night...but, they are casting taken of the actual handle scales! so we are looking at a copy of an original from a casting, so the ACTUAL detail must have been incredible in these pieces!

I always enjoy taking closeup photos, would have loved to had more time and the actual engraved pieces to shoot, but, you can get a feel for his work above.

Again, apologies for less images this year, hopefully next year I will be more spry and able to move around without fear of stumbling...with my camera!

Holy cow those are gorgeous! I can't believe the level of detail, and in a casting no less! Stunning work, and great photos Gary. Thanks for sharing here.

Thanks Robb, that last photo of the ship, isn't very large, maybe the size of a half dollar ? but SO much detail even down to the cannons sticking out of the side ;)
