Without a doubt, it's one of the most inspirational places to be as a knife maker.
If one could be there - he SHOULD be there.

I plan on being there, IF I get back from Germany in time :(

Stuck between this and a bachelor party weekend for a friend....

Is there a question here????
The decision seems obvious to me.

If you get sores at Ashokan, they will heal. If you get sores from the bachelor party, they might not.

Got the papers in the mail out to Ashokan yesterday and put in for Vacation to make sure I'm home,
so all looks set, should be a nice weekend !
:)

I will be going and bring my hydraulic forging press and I will be forging the raw bloom(and folding-alot of folding) down to the final steel for Tim Zowada to forge the blade out of. I will be bring some cool damascus and some finished kitchen knives.
Thanks,
Del

I'm signed up and ready to go. BTW, Del, I have half inch L6 and 52100 rod to make chisels if you are still up for a dragon face demo. Too bad I picked up some Peat Monster with Kevin in mind... I'm sure it won't go to waste. -Doug

Doug,
I'm up for that if you will send me an email reminder a week before ashokan, so I don't forget. For the chisels I use you need four 8 inch pieces, and I use 1/2" square 1018 for the dragons.

Interesting! I'll bring some of their Spice Tree and was debating a bottle of Hedonism...

Sweet, I'm all registered now. The new online registration form made it wicked easy and fast, even though I had forgotten to do so until just now =) Looking forward to SWORDS!

I'll also be bringing a good selection of single malts and maybe a few single barrel rums too =)

I'll bring the Plantation Barbados again, people seem to like that one

<EDIT> Scratch that, I will follow the rules

In light of Stacy's thread about the changes at Ashokan, it looks like the Plantation Barbados will be staying home. C'est la Vie
