• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Aside from chopping, what else do your use a machete for?

Limited digging.
Hammer.
Club for trapped animals.
Shaping wood.... bow staves etc.

Poking at wierd things on the ground. The reach of an 18 inch machete is a nice comfort zone.

I love carving dow with a machete. I made a handle for an adze by shaping. I made a bunch of yawara sticks. Works really well.

Carvin' snow blocks for an igloo.

I don't live in the jungle but I hear it is good for scaring away poisonous snakes that are hiding under fallen logs.

cracking open coconuts with the spine. I've use mine to move lit embers from a fire to another location.

I've used mine to rearrange logs in the fire and to spread around coals to cook on (with my cast iron pan of course)!

I'll need a machete for dealing with all the monkeys and jaguars running loose in the jungle.

A Mexican co-worker (kind of) verified this, mentioning that you need the reach of the 18" version, for killing snakes.
