Ask David a question

CPM Cruwear made by Crucible is no longer available in new material. How much extant stock exists, I don't know.

The equivalent alloy being made now and into the future is Niagara Specialty Metals' NSMWear.

How your question is worded suggests you are asking if I will get some of the extant stock made by Crucible to offer knives in. Maybe you just want the equivalent alloy whether it is made by Crucible, or NSM.

Either way, if you are going to order it at a price that justifies my using it (with a premium for new stencils to mark the knives appropriately), and then yes, of course I will.

Otherwise, I am not in a position to speculate, because, as you know, I have a number of projects already started in alloys I am already experienced and comfortable with.

David have you tried using “proton.me”? It should work and just shortens your address. I can use either one and they both work.

Any equivalent steel would be fine. PD#1 or Z-wear (likely also gone after the sale of Crucible), or NSMWear, etc. No immediate request, but I do prefer it over more reactive steels like 15n20.
