Aspects of survival training

Hi all!

I am curious, what aspect of survival training would you like to learn most? I was checking out the RAT training site and escape and evasion and repelling caught my eye.
 
Fire making is my nemisis.

oh sure, if I have a firesteel and a patroleum soaked cotton ball IM good. But without lint or somethign "man made" I have a real hard time with my firesteel.
 
escape and evasion for purely entertainment perpouses - I don't and will likely never need it but the challenge facinates me

next on my list is bow making and I can always improve on my fire skills - still not at the bowdrill/flint and steel stage yet
 
Hey Coffee, (this is off topic sry) where do you live and why are you up so early?

I live in Hawaii, I just got home from a concert and Im trying to wind down. :)

It's 1:20 here btw.

On the East Coast, and in general I am up between 4:30 and 5 each morning, BUT being a holiday weekend, I slept in til 5:30 :)
 
I think has to be relevent to your enviroment. I read a lot of these ( Northern hemisphere threads) but fire lighting isn't a big hassle where I live. If most Australia isn't in drought then there is one about to start again.
Water procurment though is a major issue. There are vast tracts of this country the traditional Blackfellas used to scoot around. Due to lack of water.
Even if we can find it there may not be enough to support other life forms, food..... Very easy to dissapear if you want to or don't follow the plan you left. I was watching a doco and a South Australian LEO had a "beat" twice the area of The United Kingdom. Lot of area to find some one who walked away from their car and collapsed under a bush. My cousin has 113 000 acres and runs it most the time by himself, of course he'll get blokes in during the busy time. But a big area with not much in it.

As with others, edible plants, I know a few, but it is most definitely my weakest area.

i can recognize a few wild edibles. my grandma had a jungle of a yard when i was a kid, and she started teaching me some while i was a toddler. i'd like to expand my knowledge on them, and firemaking. traps and stalking techniques would be nice too.
