All of my knives are users. I don't like new, shiny knives and every time I buy a new knife I use it a lot and hardly wait to get a patina and signs of use.
One knife was an exception: Assault Shaker. I bought it because it is IFNI and was not so expensive. I don't like skeleton knives, especially not with little handles, because I can't hold them good enough to work with them safe and effective. So, after two years my AS was still new and untouched. Later I removed coating from the blade and later from the handle. Then it looks more 'used' but it was actually not.
Now I have plans to change it to something more usefull. Here are my plans:
I will remove some metal, reshape the handle and the blade and put on handle scales.

The handles will be stag with orange spacers and brass pins.

Time plan:
reshaping the original knife and new handle: today afternoon.
leather sheath: tomorrow afternoon.

I will send pictures!

After seeing this great drawing I can't wait to see the pics of the modified AS! It all looks like a very interesting plan.:thumbup::thumbup:

Excellent artwork. If your skills with a grinder and a leather awl are on par, I'm sure it'll be really nice.

yeah,if its half as good as your drawing it'll be superb.

No kidding... I wish I could draw half as well as that!! Should look really good, and I'm lookin" forward to pix!!:thumbup:

Here it is. It feels very good in the hand and you can cut with an amazing  power and effect.

Holy sheep.

I'd probably go without the spacers, but DANG! What a great job. Wish I could feel what that's like.
