assembling a survival tin...

Honestly, I would lose the fishing gear. Personal preference, but I doubt it will ever come in handy. I would rather save that space for purification tablets, or other GTFO stuff. As I said though, this is only my preference. If I am in a situation where I am using my pocket kit, I am not looking for a fishing hole, I am building the biggest damn fire I can to draw all the attention I can to my location and doing what I can to drink water and preserve calories.

^ my sentiments exactly- if push came to shove and I REALLY needed to fish (can't really imagine that scenario, but......) I've got spectra (spiderwire) line for my needle and a few safety pins that could be put to use in a pinch

my pocket kit is heavy on the fire starting, exposure is the biggest threat in my neck of the woods, so that's what I try to mitigate for

Laid out....

Still need a few things, but coming along nicely....

Just curious why the packet of salt? I've kept sugar because of first air properties and can be used to start a fire with potassium promanganate, and even make iodine tasting water a bit better. But salt besides like a toothache I can't figure? Maybe to make some meat you hunted taste a but better

I see a lot of guys with glue sticks for a glue gun. I have found that using a stick of fletching glue from an archery store works way better and is great to patch things or whatever you need it for. And it lasts way way longer then a couple glue sticks
