ASTK Chicken Dinner for Wednesday Evening

I think I see chives! Mmmm!

Those definitely look like garlic blossoms. Mmmm, garlic.

So, is the Bonecutter warranted for chopping chicken? J/K If so, I think I know what I'll be cooking for supper when mine arrives.:D

Well, he is using an ASTK here so I am not sure. They are not the same blade... :)

IMHO, the Tamang would be a great chicken, turkey, and small game butchering knife.

No one scored this one yet? I came home to see mine sitting on my porch in a USPS box today and I gotta say I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS THING! Lean and mean and still a beast. Looks like the one posted here is 3 ounces heavier than mine. Congratulations to whoever scores this one.

I would have never thought that an ASTK would be the idea chicken deboner;) I absolutely love mine. I never for the office without out it. Overkill for a 5 mile drive and 11 hour day behind a sales counter? Sure. However, there is just something about it that speaks to me. It's a permanent part of my collection.

And yes, western cutting boards are no match for Nepali steel. both natural and synthetic have fallen to mine:o

I have a Villager just like it so I didn't jump. Otherwise I would have, I like the ASTK pattern.
This one and the Bhimsen are both filled with history and good blades to boot.

That ASTK ALMOST makes me wish I hadn't ordered a Bonecutter. Almost, but not quite. If I had the money, I'd order it.
I printed this recipe. Looks like a great use for some HI cutlery. The BC should be perfect for smashing the garlic globes/cloves.
I can't eat onions, so I'll substitute an equal amount of elephant garlic.
Cumin is one of my favorite spices.
The only things I don't have on hand are the cardamom pods and turmeric powder. Those should be easy enough to get. I can't wait.
Thanks, Auntie.

Now I just gotta wait for my BC to be finished and shipped. The suspense is killing me. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Yet, I don't want to rush things. I'd rather have it made right the first time. I'm gonna have to go fondle my HI Tamang and Kerambit 'C', for a while. That'll make it all better.

Hollowdweller, I checked out yer chick pics. looks like you bisected the chickie head on the horizontal plane. I've thought about raising my own chickens and rabbits for eggs and meat.
From what I've seen about the Bonecutter, it looks like It chops about as well as my Fiskars axe, which is quite impressive. I can limb out green trees faster with it than I can with my Echo chainsaw. I've bisected a squirrel head on the horizontal plane once, when I was trying to cut it's head off and hit a little far forward. Scary sharp axe.

I've never raised rabbits but I've raised chickens and goats for a LONG time!

Really tempted by this but keep getting hit by customs in the uk and handling charges!!
