at last i got the one and only.. para 2

I've never looked at the Military and wished it was smaller.

Me neither, but I have looked at it and wished for a 4-position clip and a different lock. When Spyderco finally does this for the Military proper, I'm all over it. Until then, I'm enjoying the heck outta my PM2. About the only thing my other EDC knives have over it is a half inch of blade (prefer 4" for everyday).

HEMI, about $50 will fetch you a Sharpmaker, which is beyond sufficient for light touch-ups and edge maintenance. The two "heavies" will definitely beat it out when it comes to reprofiling, but for day-to-day stuff with more or less fixed angles, the Sharpmaker's hard to beat.

thanks very much for that, I do have a sharpmaker, and have been using it on several blades and continue to doso to continue to improve techniques with it.

Excellent! I haven't had any need to sharpen mine yet (got it for Christmas), but I do understand that moment's hesitation when you have to touch up that lovely factory edge. :(

The Para 2 is my go-to knife for most tasks. Spyderco really hit a home run with the design.

Gentry,
Try removing the stop pin bolt, put Loc Tite on it, and retighten.
If you still have blade play, tighten the bolt in tiny increments till the play is gone.
I've had 2 Para 2's that also had minor blade play.
This procedure made my knives perfect.

Thanks for that.
I didn't think my blue M390 had any blade play. Then I let someone else handle it, and he showed me that it does! :(
If I hold tightly at or in front of the pivot, I can just barely feel it move side-to-side.
I snugged up the pivot bolt, to no avail (it still gravity-opens if I squeeze the lock,) but didn't think of the stop pin bolt. When I get back to my Torx set, I'll give it a shot.
