So my wife called me while I was in court today to tell me that she had to take the 1 year old to the hospital. He has been sick with a runny nose and a cough so we made him an appointment to see our doctor.

He has strep, bronchitus (sp) and phenomunia (sp? No spell check on my phone). His oxygen levels were low, so we had to admit him. The doctor says 3 days up to a week.

So I am spending the night at the hospital tonight.

The wireless is not letting me on, so no pics to share.

Luckily, we have family in the same town, so the 6 year old is spending the night over at my brothers house. They have a son who is the same age as our 6 year old.

The 1 year old is hooked up to an 02 and heart monitor, as well as oxygen and an iv drip.

I have been feeling sick for about a week and now have a sore throat and ear ache so I have to get tested for strep as well.

To make matters more stressful, my sister in law is flying in for a visit tomorrow on nonrefundable tickets. The wife has to go pick her up tomorrow morning from the airport 2 bours away.

Not sure why some pics turned out thumbnails.

IV took them 3 tries to find a vein. Then, he tore it out 2 times the next night, and they could not get another one in!

Smoke sent for the little one as well as the rest of y'all!

Hope all goes well for you and your family...Pneumonia is nasty stuff; spent 7 days in the hospital back in 08 when I got it while training for a Triathlon--don't ignore the signs and symptoms; trust me!

Smoke rising from Penn's woods for your little guy. Having had pneumonia a few times when I was very young and bronchitis more than a few times, I still remember how much it suxx...
I wish him a very speedy recovery back to full health.

We are praying for you in North Alabama. We went through the same thing, 15 years ago, with our youngest daughter. I know how hard it is to be strong for your family, when your baby is that sick.

Horrible news:( You and your wife must be worried sick.

Prayers and best wishes from the bottom of the planet for the little fella's speedy and full recovery.

Thanks all, I have spent the last 4 hours shutting off the IV alarm every 5 minutes or so, combined with putting the O2 prongs back up his nose. The nurse finally retaped the IV cath in his hand while I held him down, because that is where it was kinked. Wife is home sleeping, because she has to go to the airport early to pick up her little sister. So I will be pulling about a 24 hour hospital watch.

Sorry to hear it T. I hope he gets well soon and things work out for the better. You have my prayers.

Been there, done that. He's gonna pull thru. You just have to endure the next few days of waiting. And awful hospital food. ;)

Tough is the day they WON'T release him and he's off the wall from being in bed for 3-6 days. My MIL took to sitting him on the IV cart and racing him down the halls - much to the chagrin of the nursing staff. LOL

sorry to hear that t. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for the little one. We'll miss your helpful posts while you are away.

Hope the recovery is quick man.

Hate to see the little ones sick, esp with something as heavy-duty as that.

Smoke and Prayers from Alaska my Brother!!! Pray this turns around and the youngen recovers completely, as all of you.
