At what point are they a dealer?

Maybe I'm missing something but whenever I come across individuals who have all of their postings in the for sale forums, but only have a gold membership, i get a little confused, shouldn't they have a dealer membership if all they do is post things for sale? Correct me if I'm wrong. I hope it's appropriate to post this here.

I would imagine it is very hard for the mods to police the exchange and proper membership level.

If you own a brick and mortar shop or an online business that specifically deals in knives then you should come on with a dealer membership to sell your merchandise. If your ordering directly from a company in large quantity to mark it up and profit than your a dealer and you should have that title here.

If your like me and can't get content with your collection so you constantly: buy, selll, trade and drink the latest cool aid and do so at your own expense and aren't making a living your not a dealer.
It's a hobby for me and I don't have an inventory or deals with any company reps.
That would make me gold or platinum.

At least this is my take on it. If I'm way wrong hopefully a mod can drop in and better explain it.

If they always sell NIB knives then its possible but very hard to tell. You would need to know the name of person selling and see if his name matches any known persons working at dealers.

If you suspect someone is selling outside of their membership level as a dealer, report it.
I have checked on more than a few that have been reported. As stated earlier, the mods do not police the exchange that much outside of their personal interests.
We simply do not have the time to look at every thread.
