Atc Vtac

Cliff, great results and review of my favorite hawk. I recently got one and have 2 more on order. I love the VTAC. Great all around axe.

Finally got around to throwing this :

That is about 24 feet and this is about 45 :

I will do some really long range throws to check the head/handle attachment later. The edge sinks into wood fairly easily with the more acute profile so NIB it would have to be thrown a fair bit harder and thus the distances would be closer for a given turn. No issues with release. There was a bit of a problem though with impacts that hit full with the edge because it is so straight the penetration is a bit low and it would tend to come out. To get maximum penetration the tomahawk should, as always, lead with the top of the bit.

Awsome work, and a great read.

I order a CS Trailhawk the other night, cant wait for it to arrive. Its just been recently that I've gotten into 'hawks, they are very usful, and light.

Interesting and informative article, as usual!
Don't let the "Cliff-bashers" get to you, most people here appreciate your efforts.

Yes, a very interesting read indeed!

I am a big user of traditional axes (95% of my life has been spent in homes with wood heat only) but never had a tomahawk. Kind of considering it after this review!

Thanks Cliff!
