Atlanta Blade show disappointment

my first blade show ever and i have collected for about uh, lets see about 30 plus years now, hey got to see/meet mike norris, he makes the best damacus ever, (oh yea, he is making knives again, don't know for how long) yup buying is down and the sellers probably anticipated the slowdown, but i bought a couple of busse knives and some others as well.
green river leather is awesome!!!!
i had a blast at the show, all three days and during the afterhours was way awesome!!
my guess is you have to put something in to get something out of it and i did, i showed up so that was my part and blade was awesome!!!!

This was my first blade show and I had a great time. The people were fantastic and the fact that it wasn't mobbed all the time meant lots of time to chat with makers/sellers and some oppertunities to get some great deals. Based on previous show reports I was surprised that some folks didn't sell out immidiatley but it worked to my advantage as when I found there booths and tables they still had stuff for me to get. I came home with a graham razle and have a RMJ shorty shrike heading my way after some minor mods. Other then purchases the highlights for me were chatting with Eric Glesser and Wayne? from Angelsword, his table had a selection of the most incredible swords I haveever seen and he was great to talk with and didn't even get upset with me for drooling all over his woots blades. I'm definetly looking forward to going back next year.

I, too, was disappointed----that I did not go. This was to be my first trip to Blade but at the last minute I decided I didn't want to spend the day and money driving a 500 mile round trip and not having enough money to buy a decent, but low-end, custom. So instead, wife and I spent the day with a top-down 200 mile round trip and a couple $hundred on NC wine.....It will be gone in a couple of weeks, but a knife would have been around a lot longer......At least my wife will now let me spend more on a knife next year......
