Atlanta Cutlery Nepal Kardas

dDean:

I haven't disregarded your instructions for consolidating those pictures, but am just having a little trouble figuring it out. Will keep trying though. Thanks.

Revised my post where I told how, to add some detail.

Let me know if you have a specific problem & I'll try to clarify.

Thanks for those revised instructions - looks like I got it done.

Also, I called AC again today and the price has officially gone up to $2 on 10+ kardas. Apparently they had some "discussion" about them recently, and no doubt this is in response to recent demand.

So, I ordered up 10 this time which is still a good deal IMHO. I'd pay alot more if I could pick them out, but you can't be sure of what size or shape you will get. Sanding these things down in the evening is a pleasant pastime.

One of the last batch is a long, thin thing which fits snugly into the loops of my 12" AK scabbard. About the only complaint I have about the 12" AK is the dinky karda that came with it, and this looks like the solution.

Yes, but whoops, you removed the attachments from your posts.
That removed them from online storage & from display.
You'll have to put the attachments back in.

Thanks for the 'official' update on the kardas.

Well, I have really buggered things up this time, because I can't find any sign of the pictures. Apparently they got deleted, so I will have to take some more.

Sorry for the remedial question, but how does one insert pictures directly into the text? Do they have to be included as attachments first, and if so, how are copied as attachments and inserted?

If there is some instructional area on the forum I missed, please advise.

Cliff if a premium member has the same deal on posting pix from their computer as a gold member does it's pretty easy.
You have to have the pic scanned into your computer. When you make your post IIRC there's a place at the bottom that says "Browse" click on that and go to "My Pictures" and open the folder you desire. Double click on the pic you want and it will be transfered over to your post. When you submit the pic will automatically show up.

If you're posting a pic from off site that has a URL like.........
http:\\ www. hersheys.com with the proper symbols of course simply put IMG in front and behind it in these brackets [ ] and that should do it.

Well, I found them and will try this again.

Apparently it didn't work, and part of the problem is probably this computer. Been acting funny lately.

On the attachment line, Right-click then select Copy Address.
Edit the post.
Click on the IMG button above the text edit window.
Press Ctrl-V to paste the address just previously copied,
then click OK to close the IMG dialog box.
then click Save Changes to end editing.
The picture should appear.

attachment.php

Took me several days to figure that out.

Seems like it should be automatic, but......

The attachments can be in any post of any thread,
but once the attachment is deleted
your link to it no longer shows the picture.

The IMG line is always added to the bottom of the text window.
So if you want it elsewhere in the text--
--Cut & Paste to move things around.

I just received my box of 50 that I ordered on Monday.
I gotta say that they are in MUCH better shape than I expected.
There are all sizes and shapes ~ 5 chakmas.
Several Kardas and chakmas have cho's.
I'll take pics before and post em and then some after cleaning up.
Most impressive was the sharpness of virtually every blade.
Many sizes and shapes. I'll measure tomorrow when I spread em and scope em out more carefully.
There are a few that look like they match Karda and Chakma. I think they look to have the same cho and relative size and handle.
At initial glance I can't tell yet if the chakma's have the striker edges or not.
A good deal even @ $2. A letter of authenticity states that they're all pre 1898.
I only opened the box and counted them. Too tired to really look. Tomorrow at work, I'll have more time :)
