talked to a lady at spyderco who said send it in, we have "improved" the ATR and we'll send ya a good one, must say they did, the detent works correctly on the new one have had it a week with no problem, actually could tell it was gonna be ok the moment i handled it, it now has some resistance to opening, works great, i asked if this was a prob on this model and the lady hemmed/hawed and just said that it had been improved, anyway if ya have probs w/a one opening up in the pocket send it in and the newer ones dont, am so happy with it i ordered a ti ATR from NGK last night, hopefully it will be the improved version, if not i'll send it in, i have always said i liked the knife's design, but getting cut wasnt a high point lol, must honestly say though that now i am 110% happy, if not i wouldnt have ordered the ti version, i think that speaks volumes its not a cheap knife at all ($206 in plain edge, found a SE for $179 but i had to have the PE)
