I recently moved to a part of Colorado, that has the second largest Elk herd in the world. This is my "go to" elk hunting knife. It's perfect for field dressing LARGE Game, but should do just fine on just about anything else.

Steel: ATS-34
Blade: 5.5"
Overall Length: 10.375
Handle: Natural Micarta
Thickness: 3/16"

ATS-34 is my favorite stainless steel. I heat treat mine, specifically the way Crucible Steel recommends: soak it for atleast 40 minutes @ 1950 degrees....closer to an hour.
This one is easy to sharpen, & stays sharp. I've brought mine up to laser sharpness & call it "The Mini-Lightsaber"

Price for the large elk hunter is: $180.00 (This includes kydex sheath, leather add $25.00) Currently only accepting Paypal at this time. Payments can be made to: B_armstrongforever@Hotmail.com

You can PM me w/ questions, or ask here.

Nice Bob , should do the job . We got lot's of Elk here also . ATS-34 is a great stainless , the go steel of the 90's and still going strong .

Thanks Jack. I noticed you use quite a bit of it also, it's great stuff to work with from bar stock >>>through field use. I can polish mine up & practically cut anything under 3/4" simply by applying pressure straight downwards, w/out sawing.
