ATS-34 Vs. BG-42

When it comes to just being a knife, I can tell you from my first hand experience that the AR folder and the TKa (Strider/Triple Aught Design collaboration) both work very well for everyday carry and use. The larger models from both Strider and Busse are of limited use in day to day "city living" It is my honest opinion that most of this is a matter of personal taste. I currently have 1 busse and several Striders. I feel that blade for blade, one would be served well by either a Strider or a Busse, whether in woods hunting, in a military "field" environment, or in the "urban jungle." It is almost like the old Sig vs. Glock arguments. I'm through with it. If someone wants to post scientific theory on the metalurgy of BG42 vs. INFI, I will read with interest. Otherwise, I'm getting bored with the arguing.

A couple of years ago I bought this funny looking black machete from my local knife dealer....a Busse Combat Basic 9". I've used my Busse a few times working around the yard to trim back the landscape but not for much else. I realize that everyone has their own opinion and in this forum we vote with our wallets. Some people out there may be rabid fans of Busse knives....or Emersons or whatever, personally I like Strider knives that's why I have five of them...including an awesome MSC 7.5.

One area that Strider has Busse beat is the folder. Busse never came out with one. I don't think they will ever come out with one. A lot of rumors for a long time which never added up to anything. 1whobuys, check out the Strider custom folders.
